Mint

Nestled in the lush courtyard of the historic Wine Factory, Mint Tbilisi is a quiet escape in the heart of the city. Designed by AMMA design, this café is an intimate extension of the urban energy surrounding it crafted to create a seamless connection with the neighboring Wine Factory Food Market. Since Mint Tbilisi sits right next to the Wine Factory Food Market, one of our main challenges and inspirations was to design a natural flow between the two places. We wanted people to move easily between the spaces and feel a sense of continuity in atmosphere and experience. The concept draws inspiration from the traditional Old Tbilisi yards, where life unfolded around the fanchaturi -a shared space under the shade, where people would gather, share stories, and enjoy slow afternoons together. We reinterpreted this idea into a light, airy structure with no walls built on slender columns and topped with a canopy of living branches and leaves. Beneath it, a table is always ready just like in those timeless courtyards. Every element of the space was custom-designed by the AMMA team, including the furniture, which was made specially for Mint Tbilisi. The blend of soft textures, organic forms, and classic details offers a balance between heritage and modernity, creating an environment that is both nostalgic and contemporary. Our design goal was not just to build a café, but to shape a moment, where architecture, sunlight, and community come together naturally. Mint Tbilisi is a space where you don’t just have coffee—you pause, connect, and breathe.
